Pictures from the Past...Part 2

As promised here are a few pictures from my mother's side of the family. And this is where we found that twins DO run in the family! HURRAY!

This is my mother with my grandparents. I am not sure of the date but am guessing that my mother was around 2 0r 3 so that would date the picture around 1948. Don't you just love the "Shirley Temple" curls! She was blonde as a child, but her hair darkened as she grew older.

Here is my grandmother as a young girl. Doesn't she look like a gal from the wild wild west....of Arkansas! LOL!

And here is my grandfather on the far right with one of his 7 brothers. He was one of 11 children, 2 of which died in their first year of life.

And now for the twin link...these are my great great grandparents on my grandfather's side, Lincoln and Mary Buck Rice, born in 1858 and 1870 respectively. Mary was Cherokee Indian. They had 10 children, the last two of which were a set of twin girls. Sadly, one of the girls died at birth. Only 9o+ years between those twins and mine! Now that's going back a ways!

Haven't checked your blog for awhile and what a surprise to open your blog and see myself with blond hair at the age of 3! Now my hair is grey! I am pleased that you are taking interest in our family tree and getting acquainted with realtives that lived in another era of time. The family tree was five years in the gathering and without help from your grandfather before he left us it we would not have evolved. I am pleased that my grand children have the opportunity to know their heritage. Love, Mom
