Back to School...

Well, school is back in session for us and we have all enjoyed the new world history program that we have begun. Right now we are studying the early Egyptian civilization and so we got a slew of books from the library to browse through. Also, our history activity guide suggested several fun ideas such as making a mummy, planting the River Nile and building a step pyramid. Can you guess who volunteered to be our mummy?

We have all enjoyed watching our River Nile model sprout grass. We sculpted the River Nile along with the Nile Delta, placed rocks on the eastern side to represents the hills and mountains. and then planted grass seeds along the fertile "river's edge." We fill up the river regularly, letting it overflow to water the grass seeds. We now have lots of green grass growing!
