Our first ever trip to Bend, Oregon

My father-in-law always comes up for a July visit so this year while he was here we decided to take an overnight trip to Bend. We had not yet been to Bend, and since we have lived in Oregon almost 5 years now, we thought it was about time! Here is a splash of pictures from our quick trip. We really saw and did a lot of the amount of time we were there. I found the geography so intriguingly different than that of the Willamette Valley.

The girls pose in front of the Pilot Butte monument...

I couldn't help but notice the beautiful cloud formations...

While some of us enjoyed the view...others took a much needed rest after our 3 hour drive.

We enjoyed a picnic lunch at the Petersen Rock Garden...all sorts of sculptures made of different kinds of rocks...very elaborate and creative!

Best buds...
